Try A Trade

Try A Trade

Deciding what to do after School can be a difficult decision. Some students aren’t aware of all the options available to them. Try A Trade, as the name suggests provides school students with an interactive hands-on experience at various skill and trade areas.

The Try a Trade - Skills to Schools & Sustainability Roadshow is a unique initiative to raise the profile of traditional trades, address skills shortages in the region and connect young people to their future careers.

Our Try A Trade truck visits schools across NSW, with each event consists of up to eight separate booths, each one dedicated to a particular trade or occupation.
These events also provide the opportunity for students to engage with local business people, enabling them to seek information about future careers choices and thus selecting the best subjects in school to help them achieve their career choice.

Whilst university has been a preferred career path for many young people, over 30% drop out in their first year. With 30% of Australia's skilled tradespeople in the pre-retirement window, a trade career can offer many opportunities and rewards without any HECS debt.
