Career Connect is a program for women aged 17–24 living in regional NSW who are looking to enter or re-enter the workforce. Whether you’re returning to work or exploring new opportunities, Career Connect offers personalised mentoring, practical work-readiness training, and career guidance to help you build confidence, develop skills, and secure meaningful employment.
Through partnerships with schools, community organisations, and local employers, Career Connect creates clear pathways to sustainable employment, supporting each participant’s unique journey and goals.
How Career Connect Supports You
Overcoming Barriers:
We support young women overcome challenges including low self-esteem, transport issues, essential documentation, mentoring and practical solutions with the bonus of discretionary funding support.
Boosting Confidence and Skills:
Career Consultants offer one-on-one mentoring, accredited training, work ready workshops in resume writing, interview skills, and personal presentation, access to wellbeing resources, childcare and transport solutions, increasing skills to enter or re-enter the workforce
Connecting to Employment:
Skillset links participants with local employers for work experience and job placements, supported by ongoing mentoring.
Personalised Support:
Career Consultants offer one-on-one coaching, help with essential documents, and access to wellbeing resources, childcare, and transport solutions.
Hands-On Training:
Small group and individual workshops include mock interviews, feedback sessions, and certifications like White Card and First Aid.
Strong Employer Network:
With over 40 years of experience, Skillset connects participants to meaningful job opportunities and provides employer feedback to guide career planning.
Practical Financial Help:
Funding is available for essentials like interview outfits, PPE and training expenses. Each participant’s needs are assessed individually.
