To complement our recruitment services, we are also able to offer advanced psychometric testing services. Finding the right person for a position can be a highly complex process, so we recommend the use of psychometric testing.
A set of psychometric tests help give you an accurate idea of a person’s ability and personality to ensure you choose a person who will fit into your organisation and perform well in a role.
Numerous studies have shown that psychometric testing is one of the most valid predictors of future job performance. Users of psychometric testing have found that people who do well in the tests tend to do well in the job.
At Skillset Recruitment we use tests provided by the SHL Group Ltd. SHL is a world leader in objective assessment in the workplace and operate in over 40 countries and in 30 languages for more than 15,500 clients.
Skillset Recruitment staff are accredited to use the whole suite of SHL products. Our tests are available both online or via paper and pencil.
The most common tests we use are ability tests and personality tests.
► Ability testing - recognised as the single best method of predicting job success, ability tests are designed to measure current ability and future potential for different work skills—for example numerical, verbal and diagrammatic aptitudes.
At Skillset Recruitment we select ability tests specifically to assess specific aptitudes which are relevant to the job and industry for which the candidates is being considered. We have a portfolio of ability tests to assess a range of work-related aptitudes across all levels of an organisation, from entry level through to leadership positions. Up to date, extensive local norms support the ability tests.
► Personality assessments - occupational personality questionnaires provide an indication of an individual’s perception of their preferred behavioural style at work.
Gaining in-depth information on how candidates will fit in certain work environments, how they will work with other people, and how they will cope with different job requirements, makes a major contribution to achieving a person-job fit. As the personality questionnaires are conducted online, candidates have the flexibility to complete the test either at home or in our offices. We have a number of personality questions that we can use, depending on the role for which the candidate is being considered.
